Meet the Staff

Howlin' Hounds is owned and operated
by Debbie Berthelot of Lafayette, LA, with
a lot of assistance and inspiration from
my Basset Hound, Louise and my Bagel, Jingle.

We hope that you enjoy
our products as much as we enjoy
making them!

This website is dedicated to my "Basset
Bridge Babies": Shirley, Maggie, Barney, Roy,
Sophie & Mabel....and Roger, the best cat ever.

Here They Are......The "Staff" at Howlin'
Hounds:

Jingle

"Assistant Designer"

Jingle inspires many of our
designs. She has a lot of opinions and
isn't afraid to share them. :) She
was given up by two previous homes
before finding her way to ours and we couldn't be
happier.

Louise

"Quality Control Intern"

We adopted Louise from Looziana Basset Rescue after
her last owner no longer wanted her after being
contacted that she'd been picked up as a stray. Their
loss is our big gain, because she's just as sweet as she is
beautiful!

Mabel

"Basset Angel"

Mabel made her journey to the Rainbow Bridge 4/15/08.
She was a perfect "lady" and a real sweetheart who
loved everyone she met. She taught us much about
persevering through adversity and living life to the
fullest no matter the odds. She's much loved and very
much missed.....until we meet again.

Sophie

"Basset Angel"

Sophie made her journey to the Rainbow Bridge on
6/25/07.
She was turned into rescue at 2 1/2 years old by her
second home. We shared more than 10 wonderful years
together and will never forget Sophie's loveable, comical
lust for life (especially food) and all the love she gave us.
She's now running pain free, until we see her again.

Roy

"Basset Angel"

Roy made his journey to the Rainbow Bridge on 4/18/06.
He was rescued as a stray
before he found his way to us. He loved
to chase a tennis ball and snuggle. He did a mean
"rumpy scratch dance" and was his Mama's Boy.
Our hearts are broken, but we look forward to the day
when we cross the Bridge together. Godspeed my Boy.

Maggie

"Basset Angel"

Sadly, our sweet Maggie left us for the
Rainbow Bridge on 4/23/02 at age 11.
She too, was a rescue Basset who is
missed by all who knew her and she
lives on in our hearts until we meet
again.......

HRH GM Barney

"Basset Angel"

Barney was rescued when he was
eleven years old after spending his
previous years tied outside to his
doghouse, season after season, in
miserable conditions, his only purpose
in life being a stud for a backyard
breeder, before becoming the light of our
lives.

Barney left us for the Rainbow Bridge on
June 20, 02 at age 15. He was loved by
all who met him. He worked hard to help
his Homeless Buddies, and was
rewarded by being crowned King of the
Allentown Basset Picnic in 2000 and
being named Grand Marshall of
BoardWaddle 2002. We'll always
remember the life lessons he taught us,
and all the love he gave us. Until we
meet again.........

Shirley

"Basset Angel"

Shirley was my first Basset. I adopted her from her
previous owner. She was a sweet loving girl and a soul
mate. She made it possible for all of the others to share
my life. She'll be very much missed until we meet again
one day.
